Should I use my Proton email address as the account for Bitwarden or should I use a burner email address from AnonAddy as my Bitwarden account? I thought I heard Glenn mention we should not use our real email addresses…
I hope Glenn will address this question in a Q & A session.
FYI: I don’t think I used a real address when I created my Bitwarden account early this year. Sadly, I don’t know which address I used and now I can’t log in to my Bitwarden Vault to change my master password. I’ve searched and found that I didn’t receive a confirmation email from Bitwarden which would solve that matter. I’ve tried every real email address and all the anonaddy addresses I created when I first started this privacy plan journey. And I’m traveling right now.
The Takeaway: Wjatever you do, be sure to keep your account login email with your master password!
I am using my real address for bitwarden, and my banks. Anything that would be very bad if I lost access to the account. I am not sure if the risk is greater that Anonaddy would shut down or if I lose access to my domain.
