The FAQ does NOT recommend using Thunderbird or Apple Mail.
How do email clients break the inbuilt security? Is it just because you don’t have the option to use the password with hint functionality?
Does the PGP encryption still work if you send an email via Thunderbird to another secure email that also has PGP encryption?
In FAQ/Misc/Why I should not sych…. is part of the answer. It is more than password stuff.
“why should I disable synchronization?”….this is the corrected name. It might be under “general’ too. I hope this helps answer your concerns.
