Doing the Privacy.com set up, I can only connect my Bank Account if I give Plaid complete access to my banking account. How can I contact Privacy.com or Plaid to set only my checking Acct# and Routing #?March 2, 2023 at 12:38 pm #17311timlawless
I had the same problem. On the Privacy.com page, at the top right, click the Help link.
This will create a pop-up window with a choice of Help Topics. Click the one labeled Support.
There will be several topics, including Connect to a Funding Source option, but I couldn’t find an answer to our question there, so I clicked the “Submit a request” on the top right of the page.
This will give you an electronic form to fill out. Enter your email, a subject heading, a description of the problem, and for the Request Type drop-down menu, I selected “Other”. Shortly after submitting, I think you will get an automated email letting you know they got your request and are working on it.
Their help desk person got back to me in a day or two, letting me know they could set me up with the Routing and Account numbers of my financial institution, but that they would need to verify my identity first. The email had a link where I could upload mobile phone photos of my driver’s license and then take an online picture of my face to perform facial recognition to match the two. Note that scans of the driver’s license are not allowed. It must be taken with a mobile phone.
The help desk acknowledged the submittal of my verification, and said I should hear from their review team in one to two business days. I waited over a week and did not hear from them, so wrote the help desk, and he replied within a day, saying that the review team had approved my submittal. When I went back to Privacy.com, the page for Connect a Funding Source now had the option to enter my routing number and account number.
After doing that, they made two small deposits to the account of my financial institution, which took a couple of days to arrive, and I had to record those two amounts on the Privacy.com website. Entering those amounts completed the process.
Haven’t actually made a purchase with them yet, but everything regarding the funding source appears to have worked.
Sorry for the long message, but the process has some twists and turns that I thought you should be aware of.
Hope this helps.
