My experience with dual boot systems is that one doesn’t see the other. So far as Linux is concerned, it’s based on the Unix operating system and is a very secure OS. Now, it’s been a while since I’ve done any programming with C and Unix, but one of the things that made it so robust was modularity, and that is true of Linux as well. Linux is much faster than Windows and takes up far less space. Since Linux is far less popular than Windows, the number of viruses extant is about 80-100, and once a bug or virus is exposed, the Linux community jumps on board, making a relatively quick fix. That, in itself, makes it a more secure system.
