Linux used to be difficult to install and maintain when it started. However, a few years ago, a lot of development teams created new Linux distributions that focused on streamlining the process to bring Linux to everyone.
Linux is now easy to install and easy to use, and if you are a normal user that needs navigation, email, and a few other fancy applications, Linux is the system for you. We do not recommend this if your profession has to do with image, sound, or video editing.
Our favourite Linux distributions are (we can only recommend Linux if you want to have a secure OS):
- Ubuntu – Simple with a very good look and feel, and very secure. It is a good entry point for someone new to Linux, it comes with drive encryption by default and great compatibility with most applications out there.
- CentOs – A bit more complex and requires some Linux skills. It is probably the most secure of them all.
- Kali Linux – Very good distribution with tools installed by default to test your home network.
- Pop!_OS – Another great and simple Linux option that is simple to install and use.
